Craig was in circulation and lightly used dating back to the late 19th century but it really wasn’t until the 19-teens that Craig found a permanent place on the U.S. male naming charts. Today’s fashions favor softer, two-syllable boy names (e.g., Ethan, Noah, Aiden) so Craig is just simply past his prime and out of style. No harm, no foul. He had his day in the sun. Regardless, Craig remains a great choice especially for parents who are looking for a “rock-solid”, no-nonsense one-syllaber - and especially one with some of that added Scottish spunk!
