Etymology & Historical Origin of the Baby Name Kymani

Ky-Mani is an East African name which means “adventurous traveler”. It also happens to be a name that iconic reggae artist Bob Marley gave to one of his sons. Although Ky-Mani Marley was born in Jamaica he relocated to Miami, Florida as a young boy. Eventually he made a name for himself as a musician in his own right and brought attention to his unique name. Reggae fans in America took notice of this unique name and started bestowing it on their sons with enough frequency to make the masculine naming charts in the United States. Although we’re not sure if American parents are adding the hyphen to Ky-Mani or simply spelling it Kymani.
