Etymology & Historical Origin of the Baby Name Xzavier

Xzavier is a modern Americanized spelling variation of the Spanish name Xavier. The name Xavier comes from a Basque surname which originated as a place name, from the Basque word “Etcheberria” meaning “the new house”. Xavier is the heavily altered Spanish form of this medieval Basque name. In the 16th century, the name was borne by Saint Francis Xavier who was one of the co-founders of the Society of Jesus (more commonly known as the Jesuits). Xavier was eventually used as a male given name in homage to Francisco de Xavier as he’s known in Spanish-speaking countries. The name Xavier is almost exclusively unique to Spanish Catholics.

Personality

OF THE BOY NAME XZAVIER

Romance is the hallmark of the Six personality. They exude nurturing, loving, and caring energy. Sixes are in love with the idea of love in its idealized form - and with their magnetic personalities, they easily draw people toward them. Like the number Two personality, they seek balance and harmony in their life and the world at large. They are conscientious and service-oriented, and a champion for the underdog. These personalities naturally attract money and are usually surrounded by lovely material objects - but their human relationships are always primary. They thrive in giving back to others rather than being motivated by their own desires. This is when they achieve great things. Sixes are natural teachers, ministers and counselors.

Popularity

OF THE BOY NAME XZAVIER

Xzavier first appeared on the American male naming charts in the year 2000, so this unique spelling is distinctive to this new century. We have to admit; the spelling is a little weird. Apparently some greedy parents want to have their X and their Z instead of simply using Xavier or Zavier. Xavier has always been a popular name among Spanish-speakers, but we wonder if it’s the Hispanic-American population that introduced this new spelling alternative. In any case, the name has increased in usage in the past decade but is nowhere near as popular as Xavier. Xavier is one of the most popular of all masculine names used within the Latino/Hispanic-American population in the United States (and it’s also a Top 100 favorite across the nation). The spelling of Xzavier is a little awkward, but it is unique – we’ll give you that!
