Matt Damon knows how to pick good names, or perhaps it’s his Argentine-born wife Luciana Bozán Barroso who finds the perfect monikers for the couple’s four girls. Well, technically, Alexia is Luciana’s daughter from a previous marriage (Damon is the girl’s stepfather). After meeting the pretty Latina bartender in Miami while on a film shoot, the two eventually married. They have three biological daughters of their own: Isabella (b. 2006), Gia Zavala (b. 2008) and finally along came Stella Zavala in 2010. All four names have a strong Latin flavor thanks to the “a†endings. Isabella is the Latinate form of Elizabeth, Gia is a diminutive of the Italian Giovanna (English equivalent would be Joanna or Joan which is the feminine form of John), and Stella means “star†in Latin. Matt Damon certainly has plenty of estrogen in his household, and he better go buy a shotgun and a shovel before these girls are teenagers!
